Depressing. Watching the same mistakes each season, things that were planned to be changed but never done, then each group pointing fingers at each other as to why it went wrong.

Its been ok but when I worked for Jackson hewitt years ago, it appeared to be more straightforward with how they ran things business wise. It's not like that now, but maybe it just depends on who owns the franchise

I love the leadership in my region. They are extremely hands on with their employees. They are a major part of the training as well as the work environment. They always offer additional training amd positive reinforcement when needed. They don't talk down to us preparers and they praise when due.

I love that we bonus. It puts us in control of our income so to speak. We work harder to get to higher levels. The hourly wage is nice but the bonus is where the money is. I would however start the bonuses at a lower amount of returns. There are some stores that cannot meet the goals.

5 times over 3 years my immediate supervisors left the company and I was expected to do the work but was never recognized or compensated for the extra responsibilities. Recognition and advancement is based more on WHO you know (and are friends with) rather than on WHAT you know.

I feel as though I was very undervalued due to my age and was treated unfairly due to my age. The company works you to the bone and then has the control of letting you go with no notice and can keep your bonus even if you have already earned it. Very sneaky and conniving in cheating people.

Tax preparers appear to be the scapegoat for higher level employees and the IRS. I would feel appreciated with more pay and more education, along with seniority or loyalty benefits (ie. 401k, health, guaranteed bonuses, vacation, etc.) after working for Jackson Hewitt for a 5yrs or more.

My team is dedicated to Jackson Hewitt. They are in top of their training, learning everything they can to benefit their clients. We all work as a team. We strive to push eachother to meet or beat goals given.
