Base pay is good. Most people don't ever get raises or bonuses or equity grants. The bonuses have not been paid several years recently even though it was a formal part of my comp package when hired (not funded at all by Oracle). Equity grants had diminished by 30% every year.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
New employees come in under paid and appraisals are often held up while upper management tries to make a decision. This last one stalled promotions for 3 months and is ongoing

The culture is too hard to change...retains people who have nowhere to go

Generally the environment is positive, but there have been regular RiFs the past five years with the overall org size now about 60% of what it was. No replacement hires for attrition and large, regular layoffs. Any new hiring is strictly in India.

I interviewed with all women, on site, behavioral only. It was amazing, and definitely helped me feel more comfortable accepting the offer.

Oracle is a very revenue-extractive company and that can cause customers to have a bad experience.

Compensation trumps all for employees. It has to eventually go up or talented people leave. Especially in this economy, it can't be ignored

The company grows by acquisition so they don't need to or care to develop talent in house. It has a good reputation as a large stable company so there's always a fresh batch of new hires eager to join which means they don't care about compensating existing talent and accept talent leaving.
