Maintaining positive work-life balance of employees. Hiring adequate amount of staff.

Stop with the random reorgs that sometimes happen multiple times per year. The most recent change is ineffective and illogical.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Medical and dental coverage here are rather comprehensive compared to other companies for single payer insurance. The employee match for retirement is very generous as well.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Management doesn’t care about employee’s health. Would rather be paid a fair amount for the work I do and not be forced to do manda

I am paid less than people in positions junior to mine. I was told by a former manager what a person coming into my position would be offered. When I sought an adjustment, I was told it couldn't be done. It makes no sense that they can find the money for a new hire, but not to keep loyal employees.

What are some of the best things about your team?
My team has always been able to communicate effectively, which may be due to the team's small size and the ability to meet in-person when necessary for collaboration (many teams are dispersed).

My team is friendly, supportive, fun, nice - pretty much all good things. The people that work at Pearson are the only reason I still work there.

There are too many cliques in the department. No one trusts anyone else to help with their work.

Work-life balance is appreciated by leadership, although this may depend upon the area/department in which you work.

Equal pay policies (there's supposed to be one, but there is clearly not), stop with the reorgs - it's dragging everyone down!

What did you like most about the interview process?
The interview process was very simple (only 2 rounds - 1 phone, 1 in-person). The interviewers were engaging and able to answer my questions

What makes you most happy at work?
Having definitive plans for my work schedule, which makes it easier to delegate my time wisely to a variety of projects.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The education systems are failing our young population, and high-stakes testing is making that failure the fault of the teachers and children, when it should be about getting the proper funding for schools.
