The Product team leadership needs some work. The newish CPO, while she's been here before, most of our team thinks she's incompetent.

There are several helpful perks in the package for parents.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We work harder and are more dedicated to NYT than most other product folks at Google, Meta and other tech companies in the NY Area but get paid waaaaaay less.

I enjoy working with such smart, passionate people. I appreciate the impact we make. I love the product.

Many of our peers are dedicated to the Times. It feels good to have a workplace that my values are aligned with the company values. However the new CPO is very self serving and contradicts these values.

What would you most like to see improved at your company?
Would love to see a less hierarchal structure or more autonomous way to create product; barring that some consistency of message around *how* product is built from our executives would be appreciated as this is an uphill battle without their support.
