I've been at HubSpot since 2014 and I've been lucky to grow as a person alongside (and because of) HubSpot. Because HubSpot is still scaling and experiencing periods of big growth, I've been able to hitch my wagon to different teams and explore interests of mine. No two years have been the same.

We are encouraged to bring out authentic professional selves to the office. There is a good amount of internal psychological safety, and we can do things like push back, question things, or ask for the reasons behind decisions without fear of negative repercussions.

I like that we have HEART as our guiding principles. We don't expect everyone to be a cookie cutter copy of everyone else, but having an acronym for what we value acts as a yardstick with which we can measure our actions and behaviors against.

They are not only smart and hard working, but they are also kind and empathetic people. It feels good to know that I work with good people who care not just about business outcomes but also how my weekend was or how my family is doing.

They are aware of what perspectives they may lack and keep an open door to feedback and communication with folks at all levels of the company. They are laser-focused on business goals and how to solve for our customers, but also care about employee experience and company culture.

I feel like I can trust them, both as people and as business leaders. I do not feel like they are above me or inaccessible; they strike me as smart and humble. I appreciate their Ask Me Anything sessions and how they answer and respond to questions and comments from the organization.
