I joined the company where we still had a start-up like feel and now we've expanded to be closer to an enterprise-level feel of a company. Yes there are yearly planning cycles, but no there is flexibility. We can still ship something in hours - we are now more mindful of the second order effects.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Transparent, genuine, and bias towards action over platitudes. Bias towards action comes in the form of funding, time spent, and people hired to address issues ranging from DI&B to business problem gaps.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
You get to be active in work-life design. I've been remote for a while - some of my coworkers are hybrid or in-person (when applicable) - we're all respectful of people's work styles.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Health care is great for a family with children with special needs. The ramp-up on mental health resources and life-planning resources (will creation, financial planner, coach) have also been helpful. Skills programs have also been helpful in reimbursements.
What makes you most happy at work?
I'm aligned on what the company is doing. In general, I can track the material impact the work I am doing brings to the business. When I'm unable to do so, it's grounded on first principles of serving our customers. I'm measured on impact, not hours.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We've all got a growth mindset, people are here to lift each other up to do their best work not at the expense of putting others down, and when failures happen we focus on the learnings and accept it as a part of the process to eventual success.
