I think being open and encourage conversations with peers in like roles to see if the compensation is similar. Make it equitable to be in the same role.
i think equity amongst role is vast. you can be on equal footing and be making quite a bit less than your peer. Often leaving to your manager to try and find equity by small annual bumps.
