Working at Elsevier is fun. the flexibility of hours, the passionate co-workers, the openness of colleagues and management is why I stay here. while there can be some slowness in change and sometimes reluctance to take a stand, i still enjoy working here.
What makes you most happy at work?
The science aspect of my job, as well as interaction with my co-workers.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
communication from the leadership team is definitely better than it used to be but there is room for improvement.
What are some of the best things about your team?
the comradery of my team is impressive and amazing. Everyone is 100% willing 100% of the time to help out, and support each other.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
workloads are usually very big. A reevaluation of the amount of work/number of hours that we work, vs the compensation that we receive for it might help balance things out.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
There is a willingness from everyone to listen, and talk respectfully about issues, even from leadership. I appreciate this openness immensely, as it provides workers with the psychological safety to express themselves without fear of reprimand.
