It's been okay. The first BU I worked in (NHE) was very tumultuous, I had 4 managers in 9 months, and the environment was poor. Since moving to another BU it for the most part has been a positive experience which makes me want to remain at Elsevier.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Elsevier is a very inclusive work environment. They go out of their way for holidays, special cause months and try to engage employees in a positive manor.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
If Elsevier brought compensation up to fair market value. Our competitors pay more than Elsevier and we constantly train then lose talent to them b/c of a higher rate of compensation.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Elsevier seems to have an issue with favoritism and accountability. No one really knows how to collaborate or work in a team structure. Its a very "look at me" atmosphere that's fostered by leadership and houses that undercutting mentality. This attitude was present in both BU's that I worked in.
