Ending the day with a sense of accomplishment.
We are building a coaching leadership culture which helps to empower the teams and individuals to make the best decisions for themselves and Elsevier.
Working with colleagues that care on challenging problems and being able to use the right technology for the problem without sacraficing enterprise level engineering excellence.
We work as a unit all pulling the same direction. This makes the work far easier when compared to teams where this is not the case.
They are clear about direction and really do what they say. They value work life balance, diversity, psychological safety, etc. which contribute to making Elsevier a great place to work.
Everyone has a voice and is given an opportunity to share their ideas and thoughts with the knowledge that they will be considered. We also have active Coaching and Mentorship communities which are open to anyone in the organisation.
I have the privilege to work with and alongside some of the brightest minds in Chemistry, serving customers throughout the world. I start and end everyday knowing that the work we do makes a difference to the world that we live in.
We come from diverse backgrounds and have a diverse set of skills that come together like an orchestra. Sometimes out of tune for a while but always in tune in time for the big symphony. This can only be achieved through open communication facilitated by a fail fast culture.
They put the people first while also continuing to drive innovation and transformation in technology utilising our rich data sets. They also know that we can never be perfect which allows us to strive to be better and to do things differently. In my opinion, this ensures longevity and stability.
True flexible working opportunities. Through trust, we have the opportunity to plan our work in conjunction with our lives. For me, for the most part I choose and am able to work during my teams' working hours but sometimes life happens and this is when the trusted flexibility is precious to me.
The leadership at Elsevier openly communicate about all topics, even the difficult ones. They facilitate a phsycholgically safe environment where people at all levels are encouraged to engage. This cannot be easy but it is highly valued by myself and all of the colleagues that I speak to about it.
The question was if I fealt that I was paid fairly. The compensation is fair. It is a little below market and well below current new hire packages but there is far more to working at Elsevier than the compensation. Being able to align my personal values to the company goals and my daily work for eg.
