Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

Elsevier is a place for ambitious self-starters to grow and learn - which is a great fit for me. The strategy isn't always linear, but neither are our market needs so it's a good thing I'm adaptable. It's a nurturing environment for moms to bloom and I love that many of our female leaders have kids

What are some of the best things about your team?

Smart and dedicated people the world over.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The personal choice budget (in NL) and the profit share.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

It's open and welcoming, as well as accommodating to your personal life.

What are some of the best things about your team?

People I work with are generally smart and resourceful. The company hires very well on the whole.

What makes you most happy at work?

I get to work creatively and come up with solutions to reach common goals. It's really not prescriptive, which I love.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The international nature of the work and the diversity of colleagues, you feel very connected to the world. That's super important to me.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The communication style of the current leadership is much more open and clear than it ever was. Kumsal has really driven a positive culture change at Elsevier.

What makes you most happy at work?

As I've grown in my career I feel I have more of an impact, and that I am good at my job. This gives me a lot of satisfaction.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

It's a great place to raise a family. Not once was I passed up for an opportunity after becoming a mom. If you do the work, if you put in the time and dedication, that's all that matters.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The work from anywhere weeks, the family care leave (NL), the flexible hours, the work from home policy (even before covid, it was already an option that was flexible in my role). All of this, plus the different pots of money make a big difference to a young family.
