I have been overworked and severely underpaid with a carrot of a promotion dangled in front of me for MANY months. Every time I inquire about the status, I am told that it is in the hands of senior management, then HR, then senior management, then HR again. Too much finger-pointing and no action.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I have been doing the work of a senior engineer but I am getting paid desktop support pay. I am getting paid HALF the money my duties dictate.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
For the past 9 months I have been performing the duties of a senior engineer but I am only getting paid at the level of a desktop support person. Fanatics has been getting WAY WAY WAY more for their money at my expense. I am considering legal action.
