My manager is the best boss I've ever had. His counterpart in the department is more upwards looking and political. I don't think retention is important to him.
It manages to keep it's doors open. Stability is a great corporate trait. Knowing the place is not going to shut down at any moment is very comforting.
Most of my team is excellent, but the average if my team as a whole is mediocre. A few under performers causes far more issues than any value they offer.
I like my Manager. He seem sincere and fair. The directors seem out of touch. One of them has a side business he spends all his time and company resources on.
Hard workers who are always will to help. My department has a few all starts, some middle of the road, and then some worthless people who take advantage of almost everything.
I like how upper management gives themselves promotions every year. Senior this, senior that, senior vice president, national vice president. I asked one what his new job was about. He said he didn't know what he would be doing.
Most are very smart and personable. Focused hard workers. We have a couple of bad eggs that drags everyone down, even if workers don't work with them directly. They take advantage of everything and the bad work ethic with no consequences makes people question why not me too.
