Employees with less experience and education earn more than I do at the same job title.

They are open to suggestions from staff and often work to incorporate them if they are feasible.

Everyone is friendly and the culture is fairly laid-back. Everyone is encouraged to continue learning and improving their skills.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Annual raises are less than inflation, which effectively makes them pay cuts. Salary is already lower than others in the area.

Welcoming and friendly, always willing to lend a hand when needed. Varied backgrounds and education, resulting in a diversity of ideas and perspectives.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The company hierarchy is reasonably flat and the leadership (at least in my department) treats us as equals and welcomes feedback and suggestions.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Members of the leadership team take the time to learn what is happening at all levels of the company, not just the higher level things that they deal with day to day.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Other employees with less experience and education earn more than me. Also, lack of paid parental leave is abysmal. Japan offers 4 weeks (still not enough), but Hoshizaki America provides almost nothing.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Salary is below industry average. Recently hired coworkers with less experience in the field and less education are earning more than me. Lack of paid paternal and maternal leave is far below an acceptable amount, especially considering Japan allows up to 1 year for both fathers and mothers.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Annual raises are below inflation. Raises below inflation might as well be pay cuts. In addition, paid parental leave is nonexistent. As far as I've been told, only 3 days are given for the birth of a child. Japan, home of HJ, offers significantly more for both mothers and fathers.
