Sr leadership could do a better job at listening. Staying positive. "If everything is a priority, nothing is a priority." They could be more selective on what they force into unrealistic timelines. Treating issues as a chance to learn instead of an opportunity to berate employees in front of others.

More honest categorization of employees is needed on every level. Evaluate the jobs you have people in with their labor category/day to day work. Give management and leads pay to be management and leads. What's the point of striving for promotion if you don't get compensated for it?

My team has very intelligent people on it. If Senior Management listened to them and their concerns this company would be unstoppable. I have never found any change request to our processes to be unreasonable or illogical.

The team is always open to sharing and teaching. Still, it is difficult to bring your own ideas in sometimes.

They are a team. If someone is struggling another will stop and offer help. If someone is unexpectedly out someone else on the team steps up to cover their work if necessary.

Sr Leadership should appreciate its employees and celebrate successes. Compensation should be given with promotion. Sr Leadership should clear road blocks for employees within its processes. Better technical training should be given, greater education should be rewarded and encouraged.

The interviewer was not trying to test my knowledge in solving his existing problem.

That they would give me a second chance. When I messed up on my first interview, I asked if they would give me a month to research the areas I was lacking and provide a presentation to demonstrate my ability to learn and grow. They actually allowed me to do that, impressed I would even ask.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

The requirements for promotion are inconsistent and change based on who you talk to. Company should provide clear roadmap for what is needed to be promoted and what is expected that is different in each position. Once the roadmap is created for each position it needs to be clearly communicated.

There is a certain immaturity as to how things are formally handled. The company can be relaxed, but perhaps too relaxed?
