Massage Envy is a franchise so obviously each location will have a bit different dynamic in the leadership team. The location I work at could use some work within the leadership. One good thing about the leadership is that they are typically friendly upon approaching them.

Therapists at Massage Envy should, ideally, perform light to deep pressure; however, at the clinic where I was employed, this was not considered to be of importance upon hiring new therapists. As a result, our clinic was ill-equipped to meet the needs of our client base.

The staff was beyond ill-trained and regularly created problems for therapists rather than serving as an ally in customer service. Clients I had been working with for years began inquiring as to the competency of the front desk staff due to the front desk staff’s lack of knowledge and poor service.

Each time the leadership changed our clinic suffered. The loss of the last clinic manager was devastating to morale and no explanation was ever given, though by all accounts and based on historical patterns we could only speculate he put the interests and safety of the therapists ahead of anything.
