What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Transparency, understanding the expectations they put on the local teams. They need to learn to put their employees first, not money. It is understood that money is needed to keep the business open but they do not understand that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of you.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I've been with the company 14 years, work with some of our most complex cases, and am making pennies over what I was hired at. With my experience I'd like to be paid more.

I feel that for the job I'm doing the compensation is on the low end.

if a nurse works a few hours of overtime in the field, they get paid more than I do... I work about 60 hours a week (sometimes more) on a salary that is not competitive.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
That we really do want the best for our patients and their families, so to that end we want the best for our employees as well.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Taking care of the employees. Empower them, listen to them and work with their strengths. Equalize men and women, the expectations and pay should be the same.

I like that I was offered the job at the interview.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?
It has improved some by having the clinician and recruiter interview at the same time but the recruiters are more of used car sales men and are not always honest or realistic to candidates leading to wasting everyone's time.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The medical director has his mind and heart in the right place but he is seen as a mascot instead of a leader. The men that make the decisions do not understand our clients or what the lower level workers have to deal with on a daily basis.
