I enjoy most people I work with and I appreciate the thoughtful personal touches that RC takes the effort to make us all feel valued and welcomed. I feel a very large deficiency of interest in the engineering org as a whole to improve the technical environment in which we develop.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
It is a culture of support for diversity.
What makes you most happy at work?
Meeting others who are proactive about their personal growth and contributing to the growth of others and the improvement of our shared environment.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They seem to be communicative about the goals and direction of the business. Additionally, I truly appreciate their commitment to encouraging a culture of diversity and supporting the diversity of life situations of the individuals who make up our culture.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
I see little to no ambition in most of my coworkers to grow technically or to improve our shared environment. RC management doesn't foster this initiative, and worse, it contributes to hindering the realization of ambitions that they don't themselves pass down.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
For my level of experience and skill, RC pays well below the average. This would be acceptable if there was a clear path for technical promotion, but RC does not have well-defined career tracks for technical paths of growth. We have the antiquated mindset that growth traverses through management.
