Rover.com Operations Department Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

Empathetic, caring, smart and diverse

Review from Operations Dept

Kind and have active listing

Review from Operations Dept

They have a great knowledge of how to market their services and trust the pet sitters they employ!

Review from Operations Dept

That it is a non-existent leadership. We get to work on our own terms

Review from Operations Dept

They are attentive and care about their employees.

Review from Operations Dept

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership Reviews

Well, the answers were very neutral due to Rover being an online database where we gain regular clients. But I do think they could set up some sort of events in different areas, forums, social media, app, just to exchange ideas and learn from each other, also giving info and opportunities to grow

Review from Operations Dept

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

The stock options are amazing, however, *everyone* still deserves to make a livable wage. I work in T&S operations and make $1,800 a month after tax. Rover makes millions per month and could afford to pay everyone double our pay and still be very profitable

Review from Operations Dept

You set your rates accordingly.

Review from Operations Dept

That I get to choose how much I charge

Review from Operations Dept

I get to make my own prices.

Review from Operations Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

Rover takes 20% from pet sitters pay. This is separate from State and Federal income taxes, which sitters additionally have to file and pay with no assistance. The CEO makes over $5 million.

Review from Operations Dept

Rover pays substantially less than other companies. I feel like Rover.com could afford to pay us more than $15 per hour and still be very profitable.

Review from Operations Dept

There just aren’t enough job opportunities and the money the site takes from your oay makes it almost not worth it if you dont hav a bunch of jobs lined up. A lot of

Review from Operations Dept

Again, different because we set our own rate. But due to the fact we can only charge so much for a 30 min dog walk, I think they should invest in helping us move on to more opportunities after awhile.

Review from Operations Dept

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

I can get ideas from other sitters based on their experiences so I can become a better pet sitter.

Review from Operations Dept

We all love the same thing and just want to take good care of all these animals

Review from Operations Dept

They are very supportive of each other.

Review from Operations Dept

Everyone works together to refer clients to one another that might be better for the calendars or talents of other sitters

Review from Operations Dept

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

It's hard to interact; we all are so busy

Review from Operations Dept

Working from home has been tough. Slack makes Rover seem so much smaller and it's harder to interact.

Review from Operations Dept

Have the people reauesting a sitter background checked so it is safer.

Review from Operations Dept

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

Open door policy and good PTO

Review from Operations Dept

Rover keeps things open and they are very supportive.

Review from Operations Dept

I am doing what I love, at home where I am comfortable

Review from Operations Dept

I have freedom and work mostly with animals.

Review from Operations Dept

Getting to work with dogs is a DREAM.

Review from Operations Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Environment Reviews

Again, providing more opportunities. As an idea, after 1 year of a certain number of dog walks, we could gain a recommendation from them to apply to a dog training program or something, which would then lead to a better career.

Review from Operations Dept

What did you like most about the interview process?

Interviews Reviews

They tried to ask me questions to make me less anxious

Review from Operations Dept

There was not an interview, but signing up was easy.

Review from Operations Dept

I like that they are looking for qualified sitters who will be an asset to the Rover team and will be responsible with others' pets.

Review from Operations Dept

It was very quick and easy to sign up and get a background check.

Review from Operations Dept

There was no interview. If you have experience and pass a background check, you're in

Review from Operations Dept

That I make a difference

Review from Operations Dept

I love working with dogs!

Review from Operations Dept

That I get to play with dogs

Review from Operations Dept

Having the freedom to choose when I want to work and which customers to take.

Review from Operations Dept

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Outlook Reviews

They just take too much money out. I get $20 per walk, and takes about an hour of my time all together, maybe a couple bucks of gas. But they take 4 of it, and with gas, I get 14 per walk. This is not enough.
