I have worked for three top-tier companies but I prefer Informatica. The smaller size gives you wider responsibilities and greater latitude to grow your skillsets. I work fewer late nights, weekends and holidays but still feel we do something important, feel closer with co-workers around the globe.
What makes you most happy at work?
Great workspace - more than adequate resources to get the job done - powerful macbooks for employees, refreshed every 3 years. Exceptional office decor - lots of music posters, books, cable TV in break rooms and lunch room.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Transparency. Amit shares information with employees. Care for Employees. When announcing a layoff, the CEO and our dept head were visibly moved, offered good severance packages Appreciation of milestones and acheivements. Feedback. CIO meets with every one of his employees in a small meeting 1/yr
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Positive, co-operative, sociable. About every quarter, HR organizes an optional group activity - co-operative painting, virtual escape room etc. There is also budget for occasional team activities - a team trivia game etc. We get free food several times a quarter.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I am paid a good base salary but get bonuses based on my performance and the company performance. In the last three years, we have got the full bonus twice and 90% once. I also got a raise and stock options. Most employees can buy company stock at at 15% discount from market price via ESPP.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Co-operative. We are happy to share knowledge and plan together. Adult. We plan and execute much of our work as an internal team, with a team lead. We meet 1:1 with our manager once or every week or two to go over progress and get requests for things to work on. Our manager's focus is helping us.
