Working at Salesforce is enjoyable, but chaotic

What do you like best about your company?

They fundamentally believe that corporate work can change the world for the better.

What did you like most about the interview process?

The honest conversations with leadership about the challenges of the role & how my perspective/experience could help them implement the vision they are looking to achieve.

What makes you most happy at work?

My peers from other depts are amazing & I love getting to collaborate with them! I also love how much they value the work I do & build on it do create amazing products.

What would you most like to see improved at your company?

We have a lot of meetings that aren't productive (start late, no agenda, could have been an email, etc). We need to build more discipline around how we choose to spend not only our own time, but each others' time.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

We're always willing to have thoughtful, respectful, & constructive conversations about anything: ethics, politics, etc. Its really amazing to work in a space where it is safe to explore ideas & learn from others, even those that might disagree with you.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

We really struggle with meetings - we have tons of them & they are very rarely effective. If we mastered the art of creating meeting agendas & sticking to them, we'd be much more effective & work would be much more enjoyable.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Senior leadership is brilliant! But middle management is really struggling & its hurting the company as a whole. Take the time & money needed to really help your middle management succeed because no matter how brilliant senior leadership is, working for painful middle management burns out ICs
