One of the best companies I've ever worked for.
WIth almost 5 years with symplr, I've had both new opportunities as well as consistency to really "learn" a role. I believe I've developed skills and knowledge that I didn't have before.
The people are great. Enjoy the big challenges and seeing the product/engineering organization mature.
Very authentic and open. I don't get the sense they're ever "hiding" or avoiding any issues.
Flexibility of schedule. Like the 401K with Principal as well as the range of primary and fringe benefits.
Solving problems facing our customers and improving our processes to create 10X types of value for internal and external stakeholders.
Comparable to my package with the acquired entity. symplr made real effort to ensure nothing was "lost" in the transition.
The transparency and consistency of message. Perfect? No. But you can tell they always strive to do the right thing.
Opportunity to meet most of the key players with whom I work most closely. The Onboarding process was excellent, too.
Ability to work on a wide variety of products, projects, and problems. (I can get bored if things get routine!). I like being trusted to do "the next, right thing."
I'm involved with 2: The PEOPLE! The culture at symplr gels nicely with the acquired entity. Everyone I've worked with at symplr seems really smart, focused, kind, professional, and able to have some fun.
Everyone I work with is kind, diligent and customer-focused. Folks also have a great balance of taking a bit of time to connect personally, then shift into "business mode" to get the task at hand completed.
A variety of life-balance apps and services are available. I am also a fan of the management team's flexibility with scheduling. At least my team leader trusts us to get the job done, regardless of "when" the work gets done.
The core values are very nice, concise statements of how everyone is expected to show up. Awards are give to those who truly demonstrate those values. They're also good "decision making tool" -- you can ask, "which alternative most closely aligns with our core values?"
Great culture thus far (first 2 months). Exec team committed to communicating regularly and fully. Quick action on the integration. Really appreciate the trust they have in the employees -- trust to accomplish the mission without micromanaging. Looking forward to great things with symplr!
Again, the people are supportive. You can reach out to anyone and they'll do whatever they can to help you. (Sometimes knowing the right person to connect with can be tricky during an acquisition, but there's very much a sense that we're "all in the same boat".)
High energy and boss is very understanding that, in order to move a ton of work, not everything can be perfect. "Close enough is good enough" is the guidance -- which I appreciate. (I'm still a perfectionist, but hey, at least I have permission to let things go.)
