What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
My coworkers are great for the most part. There are two that I would like to see improve on their initiative and their accountability for work not being completed.

Most of my coworkers are excellent. There are only a select few that need serious work. There is a lack of work ethic and professionalism. Have one on one status meetings and hold people more accountable for there tasks would help. As for professionalism, seems more cultural or maturity based.

More reward for professional excellence as opposed to frivolously handing out noddy badges in order to keep up the appearance that everybody is important. Yes everybody is important, especially those that make the company / projects work by bringing valuable experience or skills

There is a definite divide between management and the more technical people (developers). Understanding what can and cannot be done and why is a struggle when communicating with management. I'd say only allow managers with a strong technical background manage. This would help significantly.

Company sponsored events are limited to an annual Christmas party. Little social events throughout the year would help. This should be driven by employees, but initiated by management.

What did you like most about the interview process?
It was all completed in one day and I walked away with a job offer.

The team took the time to get to know me and interviewers openly shared the pro's and con's of their experiences while working at Trimble. The hiring panel shared a good amount of information about the day to day work responsibilities so that I could decide if the role was a good match.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Resources is one thing. More people would help in getting the job done. I often feel overloaded with work. Also, the equipment I request (mainly PC) was a struggle. I'd expect a high quality build machine that exceeds (slightly) my requirements but am forced to use budget based equipment.

Employees are the biggest asset for a company. A little public recognition and appreciation can go a long way. We have areas of the company that are very innovative, but embracing and sharing that innovation gets deferred due to quarterly financial objectives.

A sense of respect needs to be reintroduced, where management does not criticize individuals or their ideas behind their backs, but rather creates an environment of healthy debate where all perspectives are considered and discussed openly.
