What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at UPS?
You’re going to work hard for your money you’re going to earn every penny you make but you can make a ton of money
There is no future in being a company man.
Plan on having another job or be young and going to school then this be some extra cash in your pocket because you will not get many hours your check will not be no more than $150 a week starting right off if you looking for a part-time job with a full-time paycheck don't be mistaken by the UPS name when they say you start from the bottom and work your way up to the top they mean it literally

Like technological? Very.

Moderately, but zero leadership and no one has the ability or authority to make any decisions unless it comes from the very top
What's the interview process like at UPS?
For the supervisor level, there are 3 interviews and 1 hogan business reasoning assessment test. One interview is with a director and the other two are with managers.

What does it take to get promoted there?
A college degree and experience within the company.
It is possible but you have to ask yourself a question. Do I want to stay with the company that does not have a border between work and life. Do I want to sell myself for what sounds to be a descent salary unroll you realize that you belong to UPS and UPS only.

Yes usually there is a purge every other year. If you perform well prepare to be cut. This is the companies way of keeping compensation low.

Depends on position. Management is business casual and drivers wear brown uniforms. All other work is comfortable dress with work boots

Not at all. You are expected to follow orders blindly. Any questioning of even the most obviously counterproductive directives will result in immediate disciplinary action.

Yes the co-workers are all great. Senior Management discourages much interaction with co-workers as it undermines the divide and concur strategy.

I live in one part of the state and work for UPS Can I go to another area they’re looking for drivers
Workers do switch from sort to ramp to CTO to driver. It takes some effort and time, but there are opportunities. Talk to other workers about it, talk with people who have made the switch and ask a supervisor if they can help make it happen. Be determined and patient and you can find a role that fits you well.
