That they were going to change the age of retirement as soon as I got close to it

How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at UPS?
Very nice and pleasant
Interview experience was great it was very uplifting and the beginning but once I got the job I realize that they misled me in the training but the interview process was great the training was misleading they don't tell you that you're not really going to make that much money here this is not something for someone that's looking defeat a family this is definitely a part-time gas money type situation when you starting in the trucks packing unloading any of those jobs in the warehouse

What are some of the best things about your team at UPS?
We help each other to get the job done and in a timely manner.
I work alone, so i have the best team in the building
If it's management team as stated before they just look for ways to make your job harder
Does UPS drug test or do a background check?
For positions covered under a collective bargaining agreement with the Teamsters, a background check is done but no drug test. Certain jobs may require a drug/alcohol test but those are typically after you've had an accident. Can't answer if you're seeking a non-union position.
They say they do, but a large portion of their employees wouldn't pass a drug test. Pretty sure they're required to do a background check.

What's the office layout like at UPS?
Very crude you’re in basically a warehouse with walls up to make an office

What are the team outings like at UPS?
There are no team outings
Only one per year. Hershey Park day in mid October. Good but it’s beginning to get to big. To many non-employees direct families coming.

How's the vacation policy at UPS?
Poor. Your basically told when you are allowed to take vacation
Contractually, 2weeks off per year for new hires all the way to 6 weeks and 8 personal days off for 25 years of service and up.
One year one week to year two weeks five years three weeks 10 years four weeks 15 years five weeks 20+ Yrs Six weeks vacation. Paid two weeks prior to vacation! They also give you 5 sick days with pay & 4 days you can just call in and get paid! So they have a wonderful vacation plan if you are a Seniority person!
What do people at UPS think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
We all assume everything comes down from the top, so he doesn't care about his employees well being or work/life balance either

How does UPS handle HR issues?
They sweep them under the rug. UPS is a bully company. Whatever the problem is, it is always the employees fault.
HR is a joke. You’re better off telling a dog
When they do, it's very slowly, but most complaints seem to be swept under the rug

It should be OK you’re willing to work 15 hours or more a day

tim is agood and fair manger he is my manger at ontario,ca intra shift
There understanding about family value, not running our center like a drill sergeant. I work harder because of their understanding.
Landon is a real easy to work with manager. It seems to be working well. I like that the environment is a more positive place than it was

The UPS name has quality behind it but unfortunately I was misled I would not advise anybody with the family trying to feed to apply it must be someone young that's in college that can use the college payback system that they have or pay for your tuition and can use a little weekly check because coming in part time trying to work your way to the top is really hard in 2019 to live off of that little bit of money
