What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Understanding company culture that existed before their arrival.

Acknowledging social issues would be a good start. WFM won't take a stand on 'Black Lives Matter' or any racial justice issues. They won't even officially sponsor black team members to be highlighted on internal websites. The DI task force is an eyewash initiative.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I don't feel like compared to the industry that I am at the same level of compensation. There have been several companies that are offering more for the level I am at and my team is at. We also don't offer a 401k match that is comparable to others.

As a tech employee, WFM benefits are sub-standard compared to the rest of the tech industry here in Austin.

I feel our company tends to pay below average for most positions. The benefits are structured in a way that is not equitable across the workforce. Medical benefits, for example, are structured in a way that 'rewards healthy living' but leaves out those with chronic or genetic issues.

Central and other office workers really need their own benefits plan. Store workers are often not aligned with what career TMs want at Whole Foods but are given much more say in the benefits. However, usually they are not career team members unlike Central and Regional TMs

There is no consistent direction in tech, I haven't really understood my role for my 2+ years with the company. The organization is weirdly siloed
