It's been a rollercoaster since I joined in 2021. Geopolitical and economic factors have triggered unanticipated consequences that no-one could have predicted. Despite that we've kept our piece of the ship afloat and supported the company's transition to a multiple product company.
Salary - competitive with similar sized companies.
Support each other to get things done.
Have built a solid / acquired a solid set of products that deliver strong value to RingCentral customers globally.
Engineering-led culture. Ability to connect with other technical teams with minimal issue and with common goals of finding engineered solutions.
Clear direction on where they want to take the company and how the company can compete in a space with tough competition.
Personally overloaded due to RIFs and attrition that was not backfilled. Have to wear 5-6 hats on a daily basis while is unsustainable.
Stock grants during COVID were based on unrealistic market valuations and aren't worth very much now - hasn't been addressed to date. Benefits in some markets are completely lacking and not competitive.
Hiring team is core to the process. Very little outside influence which means that candidates get to meet / talk to the people they will be working with every day. Short process too. 2-3 conversations rather than 5+ at other companies.
