Some very strong sales reps remain, however many of the best reps have left or are on their way out.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Leadership needs to be replaced. Leaders who value and are able to retain their employees should be put in place.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Base salary is laughable compared to the industry standard. Even good reps who have been with the company a long time are paid poorly. Leadership does not value employees.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Sales leadership has completely fallen off. Had several extremely knowledgeable, hard-working and driven leaders. They have all left. The remaining leaders as a whole lack the ability to do what is necessary to have success.
