Management is terrible. I have attempted to discuss a customer who grabbed me, and when heard by my manager, I was told he must not "understand boundaries" our general manager and owner both have screamed at us under unacceptable circumstances. I would love to discuss this with someone from HR.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Our relationship amongst servers is fantastic.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Better pay under the new server laws getting paid full minimum wage when required.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Communication. Professionalism. Punctuality. Creating a safe environment where employees can discuss issues including with customers and employees.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I love my fellow servers, they are fantastic to work with. Amongst servers we all get along and have a great relationship.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Our management is horrible, and I have been securely harassed by multiple cooks at my time at ihop, and have been brushed off and told not to worry about it. I have been screamed at by our GM and owner under unacceptable circumstances.
