Since JCI merged with Tyco and George Oliver became CEO upper management has become micromanagers. JCI is laying off workers and hiring executive VPs like crazy. This is not the company it once was,

Changed to a new team. Very stagnant. They are quick to blame everyone and will not own up to their mistakes. Has very little regard fo employee safety. More concearned with profit.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Johnson Controls as a company has become very cheap when it comes to employee benefits. Turn back the clock to the pre-Tyco merger, in reality, it was a takeover.

Health insurance has gone to a high deductible, with no decrease in cost. 2% raise in 18 months, 0 401k match this year.

I don't feel I get paid the same as other people doing the same job that I do. I would feel better if I was paid more and I had a better voice in what I had to do.

Everytime they give a contract forced raise they offset it with raising employee contribution to insurance premiums. And raising deductibles to staggering amounts.

I work with a great team of engineers. JCI now keeps hiring more engineers in India and not in the States. My team has to spend months training these overseas engineers in India which is counter-productive. I would rather hire one quality engineer in the States than 4 rookies in India.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
A few years ago, I was very happy to go to work every day. Currently, JCI has too many meetings and too much political junk, 30 to 40% of my work day is wasted on non-customer-related functions.
