This company used to be wonderful. It has completely destroyed that, seemingly since the UK business was wrapped into the US business, took up all those values; it's a race to the bottom. The experienced editors left are burnt out & hanging on for the inevitable redundancy when our work is offshored

What are some of the best things about your team?
My direct team are all highly committed to the quality of our content, as best we can given the ever-shrinking number of our experienced editors.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
UK Editorial salaries were last benchmarked in 2007 and are now significantly under market rate. It also in no way compensates for reduction of benefits (Christmas leave, reduction in pension contributions and redundancy rights)
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The company is chasing the zeitgeist of AI and not caring that if the content we feed to the AI becomes wrong (due to making experienced editors redundant), then we will get junk out.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
They need to care about retaining talent and experience; currently we are in a race to the cheapest offshoring and losing experience at a rate of knots. They are also pissing off remaining experience by removing what few benefits we have and underpaying us massively.
