I have far more pride in the organization than it has in me. Women and minorities are not valued as leaders. My challenging and rewarding work experience is marred by a flat organization, elimination of career opportunities, and the lack of transparency in compensation.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I feel that senior leadership is very much interested in keeping the organization in business and profitable.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I have the opportunity to work with educated and talented peers who remain customer-focused and do their best to stay motivated and keep their teams motivated in the face of very difficult business decisions.
What makes you most happy at work?
I am able to work from my home office, and I enjoy the actual work that I do. I feel like that I and my team create a valuable product for our customers, and we enjoy working together. My immediate supervisor treats me with respect.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Teams usually work hard to work well together and the majority of the time, work truly is performed with the customer in mind. Recently, the organization has worked diligently to ensure that those who became home-based were able to make that adjustment well and stayed positive and motivated.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
There are very few opportunities for career advancement and merit raises are rarely above one percent. Compensation is capped but those caps are invisible to the workforce. I and several of my directs were surprised to receive no salary increase at all in 2020 due to the invisible salary band caps.
