Pay people more. 50% of support was hired in the last year because no one can live here on 42k. The best people get recruited by our partners and managers for double or triple.

Vaccines. I was back at the office the past few months. A Senior manager came in sick and coughing. My manager went on a diatribe about how people don't need to get vaccinated if they already think they got COVID. I'm not coming into the office unless vaccines are mandatory with documentation.

If you compare nCino salaries and titles, they often fall on the lower end of the spectrum and beneath the mid-point. Previously (4 years ago, when I started) they were more in-line but inflation has increased so much and other companies are increasing at a higher rate.

I feel like my compensation and my title are a direct reflection on the value my company sees in me. Inflation isn't going down, and I do wish that would be considered. A suggestion of an additional benefit--like $1500 per year for health (mental, pet or gym memberships). Work-life balance.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Put right people into leadership. Stop feigning the "culture is our passion" when we let people go, keep low salaries, won't allow WFH. The celebration of the new nCino-funded soccer park was salt in the wound for people impacted by the layoffs.

Have actual alignment. Invest in fixing your existing infrastructure. Listen to employees. Stop promoting what once was the nCino Culture, and recognize it does not exist anymore - and if it does, it's reserved for a clique of people who got in early.

Utilized time. It's micromanaging. I can't use my PTO if i don't have enough utilized time already. But I can't get utilized time if there isn't enough cases. So I need make sure I spend more time on cases, even if there aren't more cases to solve, which doesn't equal solving cases quickly.

The interview process was efficient. I didn't have to go through superfluous rounds of interviews and was routinely kept informed of what to expect.

Often interviews are very uptight and overly formal, which can cause a lot of anxiety. My interview here was like a conversation with a friend. I was able to be myself and really demonstrate who I am and what I can bring to the table.

Unequal departmental expectation for work/life balance. People who work hard aren't rewarded and people who barely work at all maintain higher salaries.

Being forced in-person after being remote for so long (and hired to be remote) feels like I am not trusted or empowered to do my work where I feel I work best. nCino has shown me they do not "do the right thing" or "respect each other" because I have personally been wronged and not respected.

Pay people more money. It's the only issue but it's so huge. The CEO said last year "I'm not going to pay you more this year for the same job you did last year" when asked about inflation. I've gotten a 3% Merit Increase while inflation increased 17% and the CEO made 20MM in company stock
