Everyone has been great. The company onboarding and training is very well done. My team is kind and my peers are nice too. The only downside of Hashicorp is the low pay for Canada.

Overall, HashiCorp is a good place to work but policies and politics are slowly creeping into the company. The promotion, leveling and compensation pieces of the company could use some work.

Region based pay is a terrible idea. You have extremely skilled people, with the same expenses as the U.S. who get paid 1/2 as much.

Region based pay means that I get paid 1/2 of what a peer does even though the cost of living is the same. I still love the company and work despite this.

The company seems to place a very high value on being an engineering culture and values the input of engineers. It should stay this way and not get bogged down by process and politics.

The company puts a heavy emphasis on hiring good people and it shows in day to day interactions. Also, the RFC process is amazing. It takes some upfront work but it means that when you work on something you end up doing the correct thing.

Different salaries per area is not really working. Hashicorp is competing with companies that will pay top .U.S. salaries and not care where you live. It is a global market. We dont have to pay S.F. salaries but the salaries havent kept up with competitors or inflation.
