I returned to Elsevier because of company culture. My salary as an ISAM, with my experience, is below market average for positions of similar KPIs and experience. Benefits are wildly more expensive compared to previous employers and my time at ELS 2018-2020.

While we have a strong foundation, I believe we need to foster a culture of innovation to stay ahead of the competition. Currently, there's a lack of emphasis on generating new ideas and experimenting with different approaches. This can lead to stagnation and missed opportunities.

I joined right after a major restructuring of the division I'm part of; research intelligence. Most of my frustrations have been around learning the new processes and the lack of guidance or escalation points available when I need help.

Disengaged leadership, often biased. Incompetent vertical heads who secured the position by cooking up stories that the leadership wants to hear. Lack of collaboration. Internal hurdles are at it's worst resulting in frustration.
