HealthStream is excellent about tackling new ideas, driving innovation, and delivering solutions for customers. However, short-term objectives and 'urgent' items always win over finishing current work resulting in squeaky-wheel prioritization, future fires, and challenges with stability/maintenance.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is genuinely engaged and collaborative. They care truly about solving big problems.
What would you most like to see improved at your company?
Better planning and focus on well-defined priorities. There are too many things going on at once to do any of them well and it is way to easy to get distracted by a new initiative before finishing current work.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Bonus is technically a retained portion of my salary based on performance. Merit increases seem to be mostly prescribed by budget with a minor modifier for performance. 401k match is low. Only way to get a real salary increase is a promotion which don't have a clearly defined path.
