What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Managing growth at upper levels of leadership to allow more competitive pay practices for the staff that are writing proposals and billing hours to clients. I would like to see individuals at the Director and VP (and to a degree, SVP) level leading by example by doing project work.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
The ESOP is the best part about the compensation package.

It is pretty impressive that 6% of our total compensation is automatically deposited in our retirement savings. Most companies require you to put up 3% to receive a matching contribution. Not here - the company automatically makes those awards as part of the Employee Stock Ownership Program.

The fact that we are an employee owned firm is a big deal. I've built my retirement account without me having to first commit portion of my paycheck as you see with many organizations which rely on 401(k) programs.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I'm told other companies pay more for similar roles.

Based on other positions posted online I feel we are on the lower side for pay and our benefits are similar to other companies, so nothing really stands out as above and beyond.

SWCA pays less than most all other firms providing the same services.

I am likely the lowest paid team lead in the company. There's such a disconnect between employees holding similar roles and doing the same job. Unless you complain about not being paid what your coworkers are, nothing happens.

I received a promotion which came with a raise (not salary adjustment) that I believe doesn't match my worth. My manager makes disproportionately more than I do, and I feel like I do similar amount of work and make a bigger impact in our office. More PTO, more $, and more support to all in group.

I continue to be astounded at the level of collegiality and collaboration here. I'd be hard pressed to identify even a handful of "jerks" at this company. That is rare. People who value and respect one another come and stay here.

What did you like most about the interview process?
Our in-house talent acquisition staff members are responsive and extremely helpful to both perspective staff members and hiring managers.

Process was thorough but not painful. There has been a multi-stage process with a panel or team, so there were multiple voices at the table.
