Solving problems. There is ALWAYS a new problem to solve, and while not every problem is a Sherlock Holmes-esque mystery, there's enough brain teasers to keep me interested.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I love that I don't have to be the smartest person in the room; there are so many top-notch developers, designers, and product leads that the load can be shared equally, everyone pulling their weight.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Workday has shown a real and increasing commitment to communicating strategic decisions internally, and tying them back to divisional responsibilities. This keeps us informed, and let's us understand the "why" behind things more than most companies.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I like the increased focus on wellness, particularly mental wellbeing. We're a software company; most of our work is thought work, and it's easy to get burned out. Workday has shown real flexibility with vacations, time off, and mental health benefits.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Despite working remotely, the company has gone out of its way to communicate and include those of us outside of the office in its events. Also, I like the programs centered around community giving and volunteering; that's a big plus for me and my family.
