There are a few business units where advancement seems to coincide with people who have tenure and do great work. It's extremely frustrating to see promotions or external hires when so many talented and qualified people in the organization aren't given a shot.

In recent years, it feels like we are all just numbers. We've seen really talented people get surplused and our loyalty to this company doesn't mean anything anymore. I hope we can get back to being proud of the brand and see it represented in places it used to be.

The company is saturated with super talent employees. For the most part, people are encouraging but with constant downsizing it makes it scary to seek out opportunities. I think most people used to feel like the company cared about them as individuals and now all we talk about is coding time.

The micromanaging environment and non-flexibility is so difficult to overcome.

Transparency. I appreciate the efforts in sharing companies results even when they aren't favorable.

So many of my colleagues have been with the company for so long. It demonstrates loyalty and dedication.

My close coworkers/friends have become family in a city where I have none. It feels great to know I'm supported personally.

My co-workers always lean in and step up when one of us needed support. I believe we all feel like we're working towards the same goal so if one person wins - we all win.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Nervous going in everyday to see what business unit is going to get hit next. Or another lecture about swiping - it's so micromanaging and I feel like we should be spending our time on more important things.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Needs of the business change frequently, that's understood. However, I don't remember a time in the company where surplus seemed to come around every few months. With the number of surplus notices, it feels like the future of the company is uncertain.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
It's hard not to feel like our compensation package isn't up to par when so many employees are leaving for better financial opportunities. It's not enough anymore to say you work at AT&T, there are so many competitive organizations doing great work and paying their employees well.
