Leaving at the end of my shift. The customers think it's great because it's not Wal-Mart and they are under the misinformed idea that Kroger employees are treated well.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Not much. We're all miserable and tired. We get new managers once a year that come in and change everything and not for the better. I finally earned 3 weeks vacation and can't use them because of the whim of the GM and HR
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
I like some of my co-workers and others are just there to watch everyone else work with no consequences to them. I get to pick up their slack or I face consequences. But in their defense, Kroger doesn't motivate anyone to be or do better
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
When minimum wage went up, new hires were brought in on $16/hr. I make $16.35 and have been there 9 years. No increase in my pay at all. My spouse can't even get on our insurance because it's too expensive to add her so she has no ins.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Not treating employees like garbage and like everything is our fault. Actually valuing us. Once they figure out you're a "problem" they make your life so miserable you want to leave. Been at this job 9 years and I'm applying to get out asap all bcs I dared question a vacation issue
