Dept leaders don't lead. There is no communication.
For the most part Mgmt has no idea what employees do and don't care. Just get 'er done. A task force of workers should meet weekly to address store personnel issues including treatment of new-hires. Currently each store has an inclusion group of mgmt favorites and cliques.
Mgmt training involves teaching mgrs to try to be nice yet firm to everyone. The problem is that there seems to be no training on what the workers actually do. Goofs are not expected to do much. The ones who do work hard are exploited and given an excessive workload.
The company says one thing. The store level mgmt does another. The task-time/hours allocation is a joke. The mgrs are afraid to tell their superiors so nothing changes. Total Micro-mgmt from the top appears to be the ultimate goal of the company. Big stores get more hours thus happier employees.
