What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Staffing needs, better pay, more appreciation. Bring back our bonuses and Christmas gift cards!

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Better pay, more verbal appreciation when doing a good job vs hearing only negative stuff as in “why is this not done”, “you need to do better” when we are doing the best job that we can.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Putting less demand on dept leaders who are trying to run a dept. Work in the store and on the floor for a week and get a preview of how it’s not all peaches and cream. Trying to run a dept plus doing things corporate wants done.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The pay is horrible and the new hires are not going to want to work for $7 an hr and they are not going to care about working which puts more of a strain on the dept leaders who are trying to run a dept effectively. Too much paperwork, “walks”, all these programs rolling out. Just keep it simple.
