I appreciate the benefits and work-life balance it provides but I recently feel like a pawn that can be moved around to fill whatever need that is arbitrarily decided is needed. Choosing a methodical approach to proceed with new programs seems to get pushed through without consulting experts.

I have been told that I deserve a salary increase/promotion for about a year now and there has been no forward movement.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Lots of change all the time. Role needs to be defined and I need to be valued by those above my manager.
