Communicate. Show compassion for the staff and the patients. Not put the bottom line first.

The leadership needs to focus on things like staffing and employee moral instead of the petty things like nurses being required to pass lunch trays when they have not had enough time to get blood sugars

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I think that employees should be rated and paid according to their value and skill not their employment status. Also, PRN employees should be eligible for some incentives if they work for them and deserve them. For example the the RNT1 RNT 2 or RN 1 RN 2 tiers.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
It would be nice for management to have the nurses back instead of worrying about petty things. Management never telling their nursing staff to "take the high road"

Eagerness of the management team to meet me and how they made me feel important to them as a team member.

I liked that my DON asked me questions pertaining to my job description such as what is a sign of stroke and if their bp is low what do you do. Also enjoyed being able to shadow prior to orientation to ensure that it would be a good fit.
