I really appreciate that the Trader Joe's model creates a space where leadership and fresh crew members have many of the same responsibilities. A majority of the tasks we complete are perpetually shared across levels of pay-grade/titles. It makes for a more comfortable work environment.

I really appreciated how the point seemed to be to gauge what type of person I am, rather than some templated series of canned questions that lead nowhere and serve primarily as a formality.

It was super laid back, the manager (captain) and one of the assistant managers gave it to me outside at a table, and gave me a free snack and water. They were so friendly and we mostly just chatted. I didn't even know one was the manager until I was hired.
