Amazon hires but losses excellent people. Unfortunately the toxic, cutthroat and immoral environment ensures a high turnover rate.
The company promotes and fosters a cutthroat, immoral, and sometimes unethical internal work environment where people are rewarded for being underhanded and manipulative.
They do not care about inclusion, ethics, or a healthy work place culture. They have PR work very carefully to ensure positive (but false) messaging gets out about the company.
The stock vests and performance review percentages are VERY low, every if you have gotten the top rating for performance. The stock given doesn't vest until 2 years, so there is a golden handcuff for employees to endure ills or the company until their stock vest.
Amazon PR spends lots of time ensuring that the public perceives the company positively. However, the real work environment is toxic and unhealthy especially for those with any sense of ethics. Very much a culture that will take your ideas not give you credit, and work you until they use you up.
