Made me confident that I had other options that I stopped trying to get back into profession that I hated (law) and even though looking to leave Amazon to make more money, opened whole new world of operations/data visualization/OE Tools--all at an incredible pace, that had never before considered.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Allow for internals to compete on equal ground as externals for promotions/open positions. Bring back stock options and VCP.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We do little in nor do actually have meetings. Rather, we communicate via chime throughout shift and make changes as necessary.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
delegate and give great latitude to those willing to take on responsibilities well beyond their traditional job duties, have a sense of humor though work incredibly hard
What makes you most happy at work?
Being a subject matter expert. Averting a crisis and doing so seamlessly enough that no one else in building ever knew that were not for some thing I found that was unlikely to otherwise been found before causing major downstream problems and simply took care of it.
What would you improve about your company's interview process?
Tend to leave too much time at the end for questions. It is okay if you are an outsider but when I know that department and its processes more intimately than its managers than hard to come up with 15-20 minutes worth of questions for my interviewer, and then do it three or four times in a row
