My experience so far has fallen far from expectations. There is a big fear process, which has left me feeling like I'm constantly treading water since I got here. While I enjoy meeting and learning from my colleagues, there is little opportunity so far to work on projects that I truly care about.

What makes you most happy at work?

Connecting with other HubSpotters and getting to know them on a deeper level.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The people! There is a big emphasis on empathy, helping, and kindness, which I find in droves with my colleagues.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Their willingness to pitch in and help when asked. Their willingness to show vulnerability. Their ability to put inclusion at the forefront of all that we do as a team.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Taking action at a more urgent pace, especially when it comes to DI&B attrition and inclusion. It feels like there are many foundational cracks as well that need to be examined and repaired before we continue to scale at such a blistering pace.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I feel undervalued because the programs that are in place to help employees of color often require more work on the employee's part without additional compensation (aka Leadership Councils). This requires a lot of extra mental and physical work that takes a huge toll on employees, especially POCs.
