Working at HubSpot has allowed me to build up my technical, interpersonal, business, and professional skill base way quicker than I would be able to do at any other company. Compensation has been historically difficult for me here, but I've been able to overcome that by learning & moving up quickly
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I feel appreciated and valued at work, and I know that my hard work pays off. Since HubSpot emphasizes work-life balance, I'm able to fight off burnout and re-center myself when things get stressful. I love my job but I feel like i shouldn't be struggling so much financially in such a technical role
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Emphasis on rest and work-life balance. We're encouraged to take time off when we need or want it, and my manager always emphasizes setting aside time for myself
What do you like best about the leadership team?
HubSpot leadership is transparent about company goals, open to difficult discussions about DI&B, and is always making decisions with the best interest of both the company and employees in mind.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is always ready and eager to help any time someone needs it. I never feel "stranded" if I'm confused or working on a problem that's over my head.
What makes you most happy at work?
Genuine, personal feedback makes me the most happy at work. I walk away from interactions with coworkers either feeling super confident about my work ethic and accomplishments, or feeling motivated with meaningful and actionable constructive feedback.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The only thing that makes me feel undervalued or under-appreciated at HubSpot is my paycheck. The Product Expert role requires advanced skills and a high volume of work, but we're infamously underpaid, and everyone knows it.
What makes you most happy at work?
Working closely with Support to help them make our customers happy - it's very satisfying to have a fun, educational conversation with a Support rep and then hear back about how it positively affected their customer interactions!
What is the best part about your compensation package?
RSUs and stock options are nice. I do wish my salary was a bit higher, especially considering how my work compares to higher-paid people with similar positions at other companies, but these benefits do make up for that quite a bit.
