Direct management does the best with what they are given. All of my store managers have been fantastic. I have noticed an attempt by corporate leadership to improve the work environment but so far its all superficial.

being obscenely aggressive for no reason and violating simple human rights given to the employees (as in forced in office conversations with management and declining the ability for the person their speaking with to have a witness of their own in the room)

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

with the inflation prices rise so the discount really does not do much to counter the base pay joann offers. in terms of benefits when i transferred from one location to the next. all of my raises were taken from me because the start pay for the state i transferred to was higher from my last store.

Management snaps and complains and is never satisfied. We work extremely hard with little to no backup and are expected to do even more. We are talked down to and disrespected. For the amount of abuse we go through from customers and management alike, we deserve higher pay.

I just want my last check that I deserve. By law I should have been paid within. 72 hours of quitting. It's been 2 weeks and my attempts to ask my manager what's going on she has blocked and ignored me

The compensation is not adequate for the work expected or performed. Part-time work can be up to 40 hours with no benefits. Breaks are very rare due to understaffing and constant reduction of man-hours. A liveable wage ($15+) for ALL employees would be a start. Sick Leave, PTO. Adequate Staffing.

Clearly in the district i work in there is a hard chain of management favoritism. our new store manager has strong ties with the district manager here so they get to get away with being horridly aggressive and ill mannered to the current work team and nice and kind to the new recruits he brings in.
